Sorry everyone for the lack of posts… in fact, I think it’s been almost about a month to two months since I last posted anything. The truth is, I just now got back into the swing of things and was able to find some time to go out and shoot. I had an amazing internship for the last pat of the summer in the Hot’Lanta that took up all my time (well, that and commuting). I actually will still be interning there, but only once a week from now on… thus, I’ll have some more time to go out and shoot and post some as well.
So, the other day I went out to shoot for the later part of the day. I started off in Rosehill Cemetary located here in Macon, GA. I don’t normally shoot in cemetaries… as i think it’s slightly weird to constantly shoot JUST cemetaries. Granted, that’s just my opinion… and I will say there are some Good caputres to be had, especially if your a statue person. Anyhow, I was really looking foward to this voyage, especially because the Allman Brothers are buried here. Unfortunitly, I was unable to locate those gravesights. Not because I didn’t try… but because I am an idiot and I hoofed it on foot thinking that would be best. Wrong choice. Rosehill Cemetary is friggin’ MASSIVE. Thus, I was only able to see part of the whole area. I did catch one or two good shots though:

This one is most likely my favorite catch. I just really enjoy the angle and light that got caught right then.
I love this one personally, but it’s not a great catch or anything. The title makes it awsome (She’s A Cutter).
I like the angle and coloring on this one, but the light sucked, and I way overdarkened it. But still, it’s intresting.
Love this one. I like the depth and light on it.
This, now is more of an intresting subject then a great picture. This is a old, abandoned highschool in the Hood down here in Macon. I really wanted to go inside, but i’m no idiot… The back doors were open, I could hear people or things bumping around inside… and the fact that when I drove around the back of the Gym I def. pulled up on a drug deal going on. Three guys were hanging outside of their cars which were parked right next to each other, and when they saw me pull around the corner they went right back into the car, and I got the hell out of dodge.
After shooting Rosehill and then the old highschool, I ventured out about 45 minutes to Musella, GA. It’s a really small, old town, but had some good catches, like this old cotton gin up above.
Also this General Store. It’s called the C.F. Hay’s Gen. Store… but I know nothin about it. But, it was a good one for shooting.
And finally, this is a picture of a peach packageing plant across the street from the general store. I enjoyed this shot alot. Well, that’s all I got for now. Hope you like them. .. Oh yea, and how weirdly awsome is the sign below!?

Holler.

Awesome!! I love and am drawn to stuff like this.
Thanks for the flickr contact!
The abandoned high school in Macon was Miller High. It was the girls’ high school. Macon combined desegregation with (white*) co-education in 1970 and Miller became a junior high.
* Macon’s black high schools were not segregated by sex, only Lanier and Miller.
